General Description of Duties: The worship leader oversees shepherding and spiritual formation through liturgy and song in the context of our gathered worship, as well as the cultivation of liturgical arts.
Responsibilities: Develop and carry out approved ministry plan from the yearly goals and objectives as given by the Elders
Liturgy
- Lead as first among equals on the Liturgy Team
- Oversee writing of weekly liturgy
- Oversee weekly worship guide production
- Research liturgical renewal/forms/theology
- Teach the congregation regarding liturgy/worship
- Oversee execution of volunteer roles within Sunday Reunions
Music
- Oversee song schedule
- Shepherd and oversee worship deacons
- Schedule/rehearse bands each week
- Lead worship regularly
- Network with new musicians
- Foster the creation of new original music from our congregation and of an indigenous music culture (songwriting projects arranging for non-typical instrumentation)
- Audio/sound (oversee sound system growth and maintenance, oversee scheduling of sound volunteers and oversee recording and posting of podcast)
Sacraments
- Oversee certain aspects of our administration of believer’s baptism (reviewing redemption stories, following up with problematic ones, etc.)
- Oversee certain aspects of our administration of communion
Creative Arts
- Oversees responsibilities of Worship & Design Intern
- Liturgical Arts (e.g. Sermon graphics, sermon series banners, candle holders)
- Cultural development projects in the city
- Networking with artists in the city and abroad
Fulfill responsibilities of Staff member at Harvest City
Supervises: Worship & Design Intern
Expectations and Compensation: 25+ hours per week. Paid hourly.
